Our story

Named after W2. Run from Funchal.

The W2 Collective began in Westbourne Grove, postcode W2 in West London. Today it’s run from Funchal, Madeira: one team building brands, websites, apps, tap cards and automation for businesses on the island and in the UK.

What the Collective is

One team for everything a business needs to look sharp, get found and run itself.

Most small businesses end up with a designer, a web developer, a print shop and someone who “does automations”, none of whom talk to each other. We put all of it under one roof, so the pieces are built to work together from the start.

Built in-house

Design, code, cards and automations are made by the team you talk to, not passed on to whoever is cheapest this month.

Everything connects

The card opens the site, the site takes the booking, the system answers the enquiry and asks for the review. No gaps between suppliers.

How it grew

Started with a tap. Kept going.

We kept noticing the same thing in Westbourne Grove: brilliant independent businesses doing everything right in person, yet quietly losing out online. Excellent places with no website worth the name, and drawers full of paper business cards that ended up in the bin.

So we started small, with NFC cards: one tap to share a booking page or your details instead of fumbling for a card. That became W2 Taps. But the tap is only the start. What it opens has to be good, so W2 Create took on brands and websites. The work that arrives once someone gets in touch has to be handled, so W2 Systems builds the workflows and AI agents behind the business. And when a business needs something no off-the-shelf tool does, we build the app or custom software for it.

The belief hasn’t changed since day one: the best technology gets out of the way.
